Wallpaper Wednesday - Bathroom
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, let me tell you - wallpaper has made a major comeback. MAJOR! And let me tell you, I’m here for it!
But this isn’t your grandma’s wallpaper. Nope. (Though I bet you could find it in a Grand Millenial collection somewhere…) The range of wallpaper designs available is truly staggering! You want geometric? Take your pick! Textured? Got ‘em! Florals? Check! Cartoon characters, tie dye, sports teams…? Yes, yes, and yes! There are even sites that allow you to upload your own personal design and have it printed into full-on wallpaper (I cannot vouch for this option because if you have seen my drawing skills you will know that I have no business covering any wall in anything of my own creation)!
Wallpaper now comes in both the traditional glue variety and peel-and-stick. Most of the higher end wallpapers require adhesive (i.e. commitment) but there are so many beautiful, affordable peel-and-stick options available that both renters and commitment-phobes alike have no reason not to give it a shot!
This summer, I will be doing a series of Wallpaper Wednesdays - sharing some of my favorite wallpapers, representing a variety of styles, for different areas of the home with a new blog post each Wednesday. For this series I will focus on peel-and-stick options as they are typically the most affordable and can be used by most people in most living situations. This week, may I present…
BATHROOM WALLPAPER
*A quick note about peel-and-stick wallpaper in bathrooms! If your bathroom is not well ventilated and experiences excessive moisture, peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well or for as long a period of time. But that’s the beauty of some of these more affordable options - they aren’t meant to last forever!

Child’s Bathroom
A child’s bathroom is a great opportunity to have fun with pattern and color. If it feels overwhelming, try placing only on the wall behind the vanity. This will allow the vanity, mirror, and light to break up the pattern/color so that it is more of a fun surprise than a vortex of chaos.
Tween/Teen Bathroom
Know someone who may or may not be testing some boundaries? Here’s a safe way to let Tweens and Teens have a bit more say in their environment and take some risks in self-expression. Think bold and boho!
Primary Bath
How many home improvement shows have you seen where the homeowner or designer describes the primary suite as a “sanctuary”? You know why they say that? Because most people want their primary suite to be just that - a place of refuge and serenity. Looking to add wallpaper to your primary bath? Look for calming colors and sophisticated patterns.
Powder Bath
Looking for an opportunity to really have some fun in your home? This is it! Powder bathrooms are typically small and tucked away so if you go dark and moody or bold and bright you don’t have to worry about it overwhelming a main living space. Have a favorite hobby, animal, or vacation spot? The powder bath is the perfect opportunity to give visitors a little bit of insight into what really makes you tick!
Which wallpaper is your favorite? Do you prefer bright, subdued, bold, or simple? Do you like abstract, geometric, fun, or sophisticated? Let us know in the comments!
