UpScale ReSale 2023 Preview!

The 2023 UpScale ReSale is almost here and I am so excited to be participating this year!

If you aren’t familiar with the event here’s a little rundown. Each year ~16 designers are challenged with upcycling and repurposing items from the Habitat Restore and creating a room or vignette with the items. The items are then sold at the UpScale ReSale and all proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity which helps provide people with affordable housing.

There are many reasons I am excited to participate. The first is that Habitat for Humanity is where I got my start in home renovation. At age 12 I helped put a roof on a Habitat house and was hooked. You mean I am actually capable of doing these things?! And at such a young age?! Sign me up! The next is that my mother was on the board for Habitat for many years in my hometown and I was able to see firsthand the impact it made in our community. The third, well, hello! I love thrifting and upcycling so why would I not want to participate?!

The event takes place at the Hotel Ballast in downtown Wilmington, NC, right on the Cape Fear River. There is a VIP viewing event on Friday March 24 from 6-9 for $65 with drinks and hors d’oeuvres (you can buy tickets here) and is open to the public 9-2 on Saturday March 25 for $5. All items in the rooms are for sale with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. Anything that doesn’t sell will be for sale at the Restore but most items sell at the event so be sure to get there to take a look in person and get the best deals!
