Gadget I Didn't Know I Needed - Light Splitter
I can’t tell you how excited I am about this one. Our house is older (but not like, “wow! So much character!” old - more like “why did the builder make this choice when they clearly had other options” old.
One of the things that drives me nuts about the house is the lack of lighting options. Each room has 1 light, no matter how large or how small. That usually translates to 1 LIGHTBULB per room. We kind of operate under the BYOFL rule - bring your own flash light.
But I no longer need to feel like a mole! I recently discovered this light splitter and it has been a game changer! It screws into a standard light socket and provides 3 sockets for bulbs. Yes, you can TRIPLE your light! AND each socket is on its own repositionable arm so you can provide more concentrated light or direct the light elsewhere to spread the love. I told you. GAME CHANGER.
The light in our eat-in kitchen is on a dimmer and was just plain pitiful, even when on its brightest setting. Now that I have installed this splitter (let’s not say “installed”. I mean, I just screwed it in to a light socket. That’s hardly an installation.) I have 3 lights where there used to be one. Now my family can actually see what I have served them for dinner! Which now that I think about it may not be such a good thing…
Was your house designed by an actual human who made reasonable choices? Or was it built by the same person who built mine who felt that everyone should be satisfied with 1 lightbulb? Let us know in the comments!
